NV Green Business Network

Last November, greenUP! and WNC announced the Nevada Green Business Network and website. (NVGBN) is a coalition of organizations that came together to offer a statewide green business certification program.  Partners include greenUP!, Western Nevada College, Envirolution, GreenACTnv, GRN Vision, Incline Village General Improvement District, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, and Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.

Together, we work with small to medium-sized businesses to offer free assistance and recognize efforts that save energy and water, reduce waste, prevent pollution and stormwater impacts, and encourage better commute options.

Support Your Green Dining District Restaurants

Due to COVID-19 measures, restaurants have shifted their focus from in-house dining services to offer more takeout options. While these to-go programs allow customers to enjoy local foods from the comfort and safety of their own home, the packaging waste of these take away meals has been adding up. We encourage customers to refuse plastic-ware when ordering pickup and look for alternatives to Styrofoam packaging.

We ask that the community continues to support restaurants that are operating at only partial capacity. See video from greenUP! on the value of the green dining district to our community and ways to support restaurants during COVID:
